Obituary: Raymond Soehle

DANE - Raymond R. Soehle, age 58, of Dane, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at his home following a short battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Madison, to Russell and Mae (Holbach) Soehle. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era in England, where he met and married Marion Lewis. They had resided in Dane for the past 30 years. He worked at Datex Ohmeda for 34 years and retired on Oct. 13, 2004. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Badgers and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a past member of the Dane Fire Department and served for 17 years. He was currently a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Waunakee. Survivors include his wife, Marion of Dane; a daughter, Tanya (James) Stoltz of Waunakee; two sons, James (Sandy) Soehle of Dane, and Robert Soehle of Dane; eight grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, Dustin, Tanner, Jared, Kayla, Aaron and Austin; two sisters, Virginia Riter of Platteville and Margaret (Kevin) Mansell of Texas; an aunt, Wilma Richardson of Platteville; and a sister-in-law, Ann Kavangh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mae and Russell; two brothers, Robert Govier and Mike Soehle; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Riter. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at 5 p.m. at the CROSSROADS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 5901 Hogan Road, Waunakee. The Rev. Paola Benecchi will preside. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The family wishes to thank Lexy Stecklein and Emma Kavangh for all of their tender care.
