MILWAUKEE - Richard P. Kearns, age 51, died on Thursday, September 17, 1998. Rich was an employee of the City of Milwaukee, Bureau of Engineers, North District. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War, a member of VFW Corp. Henry J. Schafer Post No. 2923 and a member of Cooties Pup Tent No. 28. He was the beloved husband Carol (Swenson); dear father of Kathleen (Charles III) Miller of Houston, Texas, Michael and Brian Kearns; proud grandfather of Charles Miller IV; loving son of Walter Kearns; dear brother of Connie (Kamal) Days of Dallas, Texas, Mary Kearns, Patti (Chris) Tucker and Cindy (Brian) Beierly, all of Madison; and dear brother-in-law of Kathleen (Darald) Hanusa and Jinger (Dennis) Mandt. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Kearns and his step mother, Mildred Kearns. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. at ST. PHILIP NERRI CHURCH, corners of 68th-Silver Spring Drive, with a VFW Ritual at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
