MADISON - Robert M. Rieser, Jr., age 63, of 3806 Hammersley Avenue, died on Tuesday, August 14, 1984, in a local hospital. He was born in Superior, Wisconsin on May 24, 1921, and married Frances Levenick on October 25, 1946. He was a graduate of Shattuck Military Academy, a graduate of Wisconsin High School, and of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Rieser taught for two years at Fort Atkinson, was a teacher and coach for 27 years at Central high School, and for five years at East High School. He worked 36 summers at the University of Wisconsin Lifesaving Station. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the 87th Infantry Division, and a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge Madison #5, Chi Psi Fraternity, and numerous educational associations. He is survived by his wife, Frances; four children, Sue Mahoney of Pennsylvania, Patty Wochinski, Bob Rieser III, Kathy Rieser, all of Madison; five grandchildren; his mother, Katherine Rieser, Sr.; and a brother, William Rieser of Madison. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Sr.; and a sister, Mary Eleanor Rieser. Private family memorial services will be held on Friday morning, August 17. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Limnology Lab in care of the University of Wisconsin Foundation. CRESS FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
