Obituary: Richard (Ric) Sundquist

MADISON - Richard (Ric) Sundquist, age 33, of 6201 Strathmore Lane, died on Monday, March 2, 1981 in a local hospital. He was born on November 15, 1947 in Madison, and had been a lifelong resident of Madison. He was employed with the Baskin-O and V Clothiers. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council and was Sunday School Superintendent, a member of Blackhawk Country Club, and a past president of the local A.C.T.W.U. Surviving are his wife, the former Susan Ellickson; a daughter, Kathie; his mother, Mrs. Shirley Sundquist, and his grandmother, Mrs. Olive Steinhauer, both of Madison, and many relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 322 E. Washington Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 1981, with the Reverend Gilbert Splett and the Reverend Joel Diemer officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schroeder Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Avenue, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association or to St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Centralites,
I knew Ric best from summer little league baseball. We both managed little league teams. He, however, managed about five teams at once. I never could quite figure out how or why he managed so many, but I have to give him credit. REST IN PEACE. Doug
