MADISON - Miss Vida V. Smith, age 86, of 6209 Mineral Point Road died on Saturday, February 26, 1983, at a local nursing home. Born in Mondovi, Wisconsin on September 23, 1896, she had been a Madison resident for most of her life. Miss Smith was a principal of Central High School for many years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. Survivors are a sister, Otiska Fellows of Rochester, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH CHAPEL at 1609 University Avenue at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, with the Reverend Wells Grogan officiating. Burial will be in Mondovi. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME at 3610 Speedway Road. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon in Mondovi.
